Modern Foyer / May 30, 2018 / Reyna Stockton.
In every home, the foyer or entryway gives the first right impression of your entire home. It is perfectly fine if you do not spend a fortune or so much time in decorating your foyers. However, spending less time in finding the right foyer lighting can save your foyer from being overlooked. Since foyer is not truly a living area, people generally give less importance in illuminating or decorating it.
Sometimes foyers can be devoid of natural light. You guessed it! Add a mirror! It’s like having a window where there isn’t one. Thus, catching every trace of light, bringing the space to life! In any foyer there is nothing more beautiful than using a fine gilt framed mirror. Change out your old lighting fixture and replace it with a new chandelier. This will improve the rooms’ light and add charm.
Build a Working Way Station - Your entry is the first line of defense when it comes to keeping muddy shoes out of the living room. Supplying ample storage for shoes, gloves, and other essentials will keep the rest of your home looking pristine, no matter the season. Put Passions on Display - Consider your entry a chance to message to guests from the minute they walk in what matters most to you. Books, artwork, and favorite objects are always great additions to the space, regardless of whether it’s a grand entry or an apartment nook.
Choose a color that will give you a lift when you come through the door after a long day. extured, glazed or marbleizing walls are an excellent choice. It’s virtually impossible to see dirty marks or fingerprints. Give your walls a kind of strie’ effect of three or four different shades by glazing any darker color with a lighter one.
