Modern Foyer / March 24, 2018 / Kenya Kumar.
In every home, the foyer or entryway gives the first right impression of your entire home. It is perfectly fine if you do not spend a fortune or so much time in decorating your foyers. However, spending less time in finding the right foyer lighting can save your foyer from being overlooked. Since foyer is not truly a living area, people generally give less importance in illuminating or decorating it.
If you choose wallpaper with lots of pattern, you will have very little need for pictures or artwork. When choosing wallpaper, don’t assume that a small foyer should be papered with an equally small printed design. Some of the prettiest foyers I’ve been in, were small ones, where the paper chosen was large scale and very bold. The effect was wonderful! The entry is the perfect spot for tromp l’oeil. Possibly a mural of a Grecian urn or a large topiary.
Hang a tapestry on an iron rod and place a garden bench beneath. The tapestry will add softness and texture. The bench will not only be esthetically pleasing but functional as well, serving as a place for removing shoes or simply a resting place. If you have the ample room in your foyer, using a chest or commode is an excellent choice. The top of the chest gives you plenty of area to display your favorite lamp or a pair of candlestick lamps. You may also want to accessorize with a small collection of boxes or any other collection. I love the idea of all the extra storage space you gain when using a chest.
Home decoration can be taken to a new height by hanging foyer chandeliers. Any person can feel the difference if the entrance of the house is decorated with a beautiful foyer chandelier. Foyer lighting can brighten the entire room décor. Though using this lighting fixture has started only a few decades back, nowadays, every modern designer creates unique interior décor by using foyer chandeliers.
